Hello Parents and Families! It's hard to believe that it's the last week of February, here's what we have going on:
Maternity Leave: Introducing Mrs. Robin Hanson
My due date is right around the corner, Tuesday March 3rd. I am planning on finishing the week through March 6th and having my maternity replacement, Robin Hanson, begin on Monday, March 9th. Mrs. Hanson may look familiar, she has several years of classroom experience from her time working at CEC (our pre-school on campus). She has taken a few years off from the classroom to care for her two young children, Oliver (4), and Mabel (2). She has graciously accepted the position of maternity leave for the 8 week term and is looking forward to her time in the classroom once again. Robin has already been introduced to our students and has spent some time with us in-class learning our routines and daily activities. It is with full confidence that I can say Robin is a great fit for Twin Lakes and our second grade class. I plan on returning Monday, May 4th to finish out the school year!
Half-Day: Thursday, February 26th
Students are dismissed at 12:00 p.m. Cross-Walk will be available until 6:00 p.m.
OPEN HOUSE: Thursday, February 26th
Come see what your student has been working on all year, classrooms will be open from 7-8 p.m.

Speech-Meet: March 24th
Your child has been sent home with a poem, scripture verse or short fable of their choosing for our Speech Meet that takes place in March. Please practice with your child at home so they are fully prepared for the in-class presentation that will take place on Tuesday, March 24th. Along with their selection, students will have some brief instructions about what to expect for the Speech Meet.

Our homework and spelling words are as follows:
laundry, taught, launch, caught, awful, crawl, hawk, lawn, sauce, pause
Monday: Spelling- 3x each, Math- 7.5, Reading- 15 minutes
Tuesday: Spelling- 5 Definitions, Math- 7.6, Reading- 15 minutes
Wednesday: Spelling- 10 Sentences, Math- 7.7 Reading 15 minutes
Thursday: Spelling- ABC Order, Math- 7.8, Reading 15 minutes
