Dec. 16- Dec. 20

Hello Families and Friends! We have a festive week planned ahead! Here are a few things to take note of:

Mitchellville
After the new year our classroom will be turned into "Mitchellville!" This is one of my most parts of the year! I will send home information on how your child will need to apply for a job and the laws that are required in the town of Mitchellville, such as rent and payday. Please take some time during the break to look over the jobs that will be available and decide on 2-3 that would fit your child's interests. Not everyone will receive their first choice when it comes finding a job! I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding Mitchellville!

Two-Sided Math Homework
As we are nearer to the second half of the school year, students will be required to complete two-sides each evening for their math homework. Parents and students should still only be spending 30-40 minutes a night on homework including reading. If you and your child are exceeding this please let me know so that we can work on some strategies together to make homework-time not as challenging!

Christmas Around the World Projects Due: Monday, Dec. 16th

AR
AR or Accelerated Reader is a wonderful reading program that helps teachers and parents give their students/children the reading practice they need. I will set a reading goal for your child and they will be able to see their progress toward that goal. Together, you will be able to view the number of books and words read. Using AR will strengthen their vocabulary skills.

Go to the tlcs.us website and the AR icon is at the top right hand side of the home page. If you go to the tlcs.us website on your phone or iPad the AR icon is at the bottom of the home page.
Your child's login is their 1st letter of their 1st name and then the 1st 4 letters of their last name.
For example: emccu would be my login, Emily McCutchen.
If you have a student who has a sibling with the same initials, put a 1 after the last name. example:emccu1
Password: abc
