Movie Night: Friday, October 3

Join us on the field for our annual movie night! Free popcorn will be available, bring your lawn chairs or blankets for the LEGO movie! See you there!

 

Field Trip: Monday, October 13

Information was sent home regarding the field trip on Monday, October 13th. The cost is $17 and each student needs to return 2 permission slips, one for TLCS and the other for Mt. Hermon. Drivers/Chaperones will be chosen on a first-come-first serve basis, please make sure that you have been fingerprinted prior to being a volunteer on the trip. I am really looking forward to our day together!

 

October Book Order

The Scholastic book order will be sent out this week for the month of October. If you'd like to purchase books please place the order on-line or return the order form to me by October 13th.

 

Khan Academy and Accelerated Reader

Please encourage your child to continue their math progress with Kahn Academy each week and to practice their reading comprehension by taking AR quizzes on-line! 

 

We will not have a spelling test this week, it is a Language Arts assessment week. Students will be responsible for completing a two-sided practice page and a page of math along with their 15 minutes of reading, thank you!

Monday: Spelling- Practice Page, Math- 2.6, Reading- 15 minutes

Tuesday: Spelling- Practice Page, Math- 2.7, Reading- 15 minutes

Wednesday: Spelling- Practice Page, Math- 2.8, Reading- 15 minutes

Thursday: Spelling- Practice Page, Math- 2.9, Reading- 15 minutes

K-2 Chapel: Monday, September 22

Join us for the K-2 chapel in Monschke Hall at 2:25 p.m. for worship and a speaker, Malcolm McKennan!

Fall Pictures: Thursday, September 25

Students will have their Fall pictures taken this Thursday, if you'd like your child to change after the pictures are taken they will be given an opportunity to do so. Ordering information will be sent home when the proofs are ready!

Half-Day: Friday, September 26

Students will be dismissed this Friday at 12:00 p.m. Cross-Walk will be available until 6:00 p.m.

Picture Day: Thursday, September 25th

Students will be taking their Fall school pictures on Thursday, September 25th. If you'd like to volunteer some time to help with shuffling students in and out of the photo area, please contact the office!

We will have two sessions available: 6:30-7:00 p.m. and 7:15- 7:45 p.m.   Both sessions will cover the same information and will be held in our classroom, room 831.

Khan Academy

Thank you parents for returning the green permission slips for your children to begin the Khan Academy program. Please be patient as I create an account for each child. You will receive an email and hard copy of each child's user name and log-in information once we are up and running!

 

Scholastic Book Club

If you are interested in purchasing books for your student, parents can place an order online or return the order form with their student in their planner. Book orders for the month of September are due on the 2nd. I will continue to send home monthly book order forms!
