May 1- May 5

It's our 33rd week of school!  We will finish our health and nutrition unit this week, continue working on map skills in Social Studies and end the year with Fairytales and Folktales!
Flat Stanley Project
If you were not able to mail your Flat Person during Spring Break there's still time! Get it in the mail so that we can see where all of our Flat students have traveled! Thank so much for participating at home!

National Day of Prayer: Thursday, May 4th
All are welcome to join as we gather as a school to celebrate our religious freedom on National Day of  Prayer. We will gather in the Main Auditorium from 8:30- 9:00 a.m.

Field Trip: Friday, May 12th
Both second grade classes will be headed to the Children's Museum of San Jose. Chaperones will be chosen on a "first-come-first served" basis, so please indicate on the permission slip if you'd like to attend/drive. We will leave campus at 8:45 a.m. and return around 2:00 p.m.
This will be our last field trip of the year, looking forward to it!

Spring Carnival: Friday, May 19th
Join us for this fun, annual event! There will be games, prizes, food, sweets and rides! Tickets and wristbands can be purchased in advance in the office, hope to see you there!

NO SCHOOL: Monday, May 29th
In observance of Memorial Day there will be no school, enjoy the long weekend!

The following are our spelling words and homework for the week:
NO SPELLING words this week, it is an assessment week!

Monday: Spelling- practice page, Math- 10.11, Reading- 15 minutes
Tuesday: Spelling- practice page, math- 10.12, Reading- 15 minutes
Wednesday: practice page, Math 10.13,  Reading-15 minutes
Thursday: Spelling- practice page, Math- chpt. 10 review (test Friday), Reading- 15 minutes

April 10- April 14

It's our 31st week of school!  Check out the Flat Stanley Project, you can work on it during Spring Break!!Don't forget to mark your calendar with upcoming dates and events!

Flat Stanley Project
During our testing week we'll be reading the fantastic story of Flat Stanley! Your child will be coming home with instructions to send their Flat Person to a friend and have him/her returned to our classroom. Looking forward to seeing where they travel this year, more instructions to come!

Terra Nova Testing:  April 7- 14
It is very important that your child receives a good nights rest and a sustainable breakfast during these testing days. If your child is going to be absent please let me know so that we can plan to have a make-up test ready. There will be no homework during this week! I would love to show our students how proud I am of them each day by giving them a fun snack. If you'd be willing to provide snacks for our classroom of 21 students please connect with me. The snacks we'll need are: Gold Fish Crackers, Gummies, Granola Bars, Fresh Fruit (cuties, bananas, or apple slices).
Half-Day: April, 14
In observance of Good Friday, students will be dismissed at 12:00 p.m. Crosswalk will be available until 6:00 p.m.
Spring Break: April 17-21
Enjoy the break with friends and family, see you Monday, April 24th!

It's our 30th week of school!  We have a busy 2 weeks before Spring Break, we'll beginning a health and nutrition unit for Science this month. Don't forget to mark your calendar with upcoming dates and events!

All-School Speech Meet: Tuesday, April 4
All are welcome to join us for the All School Speech Meet. Grades 1-2 will be reciting in the Main Auditorium beginning at 8:30 a.m. We are proud to support those representing our classroom:
