3rd Quarter Character Trait Awards
Congratulations to the following students who will be receiving a Character Trait Award for 3rd quarter:

Half-Days: March 18 and March 25
Students will be dismissed at 12:00 p.m. on both of these dates. Crosswalk will be available until 6:00 p.m.
Speech Meet: Practice, Practice, Practice!!
Your child has come home with a piece chosen for the Speech Meet
Program. Pieces are chosen from three categories; poetry, fables, bible
verse. Your child will be responsible for memorizing his/her piece and
participating in an in-class meet in front of their classmates and two
judges. The in-class meet will be Thursday, March 17 (date change).
Two students from each class within each category will be chosen to
participate in the all-school speech meet, during the following week of
March. Please see me if you have any questions regarding Speech Meet,

Vacation to Mars Performance
Both second grade classes have been practicing really hard for our
up-coming performance of "Vacation to Mars." The short drama/musical
will be on Friday, March 18th in Monschke Hall. The performance begins
at 9:30 a.m. and will last approximately 30 minutes.

Easter Vacation: March 28- April 1
Homework Changes
Spelling words have increased to 15 words per week, although homework
only includes 10 of these words. Students write all 15 in their Student
Planners at the beginning of the week and they are posted on the blog
as well. Math homework has been increased to two pages, both pages are
to be done at home and returned the following day along with their
spelling homework.
Spelling words and homework for the week are as follows:
dinner, pepper, better, fuzzy, happen, hammer, summer, traffic, blizzard, glitter, hike, game, joke, gave, heat
Monday: Spelling- 3x each, Math- 9.6, Reading- 15 minutes
Tuesday: Spelling- wordsearch, Math- 9.7, Reading- 15 minutes
Wednesday: Spelling- 10 sentences, Math- 9.8, Review Reading- 15 minutes
Thursday: Spelling- ABC order, Math- 9.9, Reading 15 minutes
